Reza Ali
Education
I received my high school education in Wellingborough School, England and read Law at The University of Buckingham, England.
CareerI began my career in 1995 as a successful Corporate Legal Counsel in Petronas, one of the leading Fortune 500 companies in the world. Always looking for new challenges, I left Petronas in 2001 and became one of the founding members of iPerintis, a company Petronas establish in 2001 to handle what was then the new frontier of e-business and e-commerce.
I left iPerintis after a few years to joined Commercedotcom, a company established to develop and manage the Malaysian Federal Government eProcurement system where I was eventually appointed as Head of Operations.
Looking for even more challenges I joined A.T. Kearney as an Associate Consultant specializing in corporate change management where I was involved in a number of high profiled corporate change projects.
My dark period
Even though I had a great career and everyone was recognized and rewarded me for my work and expertise, inside I was battling my own demons. I was plagued with many financial setbacks, family issues, relationships issues and issues of self-esteem.
I continued my success in my career and kept rising higher and higher in the corporate world and all the while I was suffering internally.
Unable to cope I started to secretly hurt myself physically with whatever was close at that moment; hand, a wall, or plate, even my own bare hands. And all that time, my friends, colleagues and family members didn’t know. It was as if I was leading a double life.
My transformation
Through a series of fortunate circumstances I attended several personal development and transformational workshops, the most notable of which is The Business School For Entepeneurs (BSE) organized by Excellerated.Com. I was never a great believer in these kind of workshops and seminars but the BSE really enabled me to confront and face my demons.
And my life changed.
People around me were noticing the changes and the results I was getting and they began to ask me to share what I went through. After attending Excellerated.Com’s Instructor Training Programme, I began to share my experiences on stage, speaking to audiences from as few as 5 to as many as several hundred.
I now run my own company, Right Eye Sdn Bhd, which provides the following services:
- corporate training
- speaking
- consulting.
I have trained and consulted for major companies in Malaysia such as:
- PETRONAS
- Sime Darby
- MISC Berhad
- TM Berhad
- Affin Investment Bank
- SME Bank
- Al Rajhi Bank
- DKSH
- The Malaysian Federal Government.
My areas of expertise are
- personal transformation
- leadership
- dynamic high performing teams
- communication
- change management.
Why I am Unique
I have been told that I have a unique way of using my life experiences and sharing them in a way that audiences can relate and learn from. I don’t share my success as much as I share my failures because that’s where the most learning can come from. Through my sharing, I find people become more open about their own similar situations and that is when the change can begin.
In my free time, I enjoy photography and reading. I also spend a great deal of my free time getting physically in shape and have competed in triathlon and running events. I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A New Mission
I will be launching my public seminars soon to reach out to more people who can benefit from my sharing.
